Collect: Faithful Lord, whose steadfast love never ceases and whose mercies never come to an end: grant us the grace to trust you and to receive the gifts of your love, new every morning, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported the St Peter’s Concert last Saturday night at CC. It was a good night of wonderful music. In excess of £700 was raised which will be split evenly between church and the school. Les.
CHRISTMAS CARDS from Transform Trade (formerly Traidcraft Exchange) are on display for ordering at Good Shepherd today and at Christ Church next week (2nd Nov). Cards ordered last week will be available for collection at the respective churches. The Bible Course: Tuesdays evenings, 7.30pm, at The Rectory. 4 & 18 November; 2 Dec; 6 & 20 Jan.
Annual Memorial Services: will be held on 02 November 2025 – 4pm at Christ Church and The Church At Perton and on 09 November 2025 – 4pm at The Church of the Good Shepherd. If you want a loved one remembered who died in previous years, please put their names clearly on the list at back of church.
Remembrance Sunday 9th November: main service at CC is at 10.30am and is a joint service with Tettenhall Wood URC. 9.30am at GS and 8.00 at CC continue as normal.
Book Club starts a new book on Thursday 13 November, 10.30am at CC. The book is How to Talk about Jesus without looking like an Idiot, by Andy Bannister. New members welcome
A Night with the Silent Stars, Saturday 15th November, 7.00pm, at Christ Church:, featuring on screen Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Laurel & Hardy with live organ accompaniment by Donald MacKenzie from London’s Odeon, Leicester Square. CHEESE WRAPPER RECYCLING. Sadly, this programme will be coming to an end. Please bring in any wrappers by 02 November. A big "Thank you" to all who have helped the environment by supporting this scheme. Angela.
Eco-way tips for October: Green your home this Autumn. Testing your home for draughts, find and fixing the gaps that let the cold air in and warm air out. Clean out dust & cobwebs behind radiators, and use tinfoil or panels behind radiators to help reflect heat back into your room.

Notes from PCC September 2025 meeting.

3. Meeting opened with welcome and review of the vision day. Time of ‘dwelling in the word.’
4. Growing Disciples. Discussion time of themes from Parish Vision Day focusing our mission around contact, nurture and growth. Emphasis on prayer.
5. Minutes last meeting accepted.
6. Charitable giving: information shared on Children’s Air Ambulance.
7. Treasures report – CC regular account is in credit for the year up to August
8. Good Shepherd Report – cost of the new roof £24,694, paid from a legacy and out of reserves
9. Christ Church Fabric and Finance.
a. Internal decorating: In order to apply grants, church has to specify how much it can put towards costs. Agreed this should be up to £10,000. Fund-raising needed!
b. Organist fees to increase for Sunday services, weddings and funerals. Request for donation to organ fund to be abolished. All fees to be reviewed annually.
c. Cleaner retired. Voucher and flowers in recognition of her 24 year service.
d. List B application made re installation AV has been submitted.
10. Safeguarding. No concerns raised. Policy re recruitment ex-offenders approved. Pam Bevan gave report on SG conference. Training on-going for all PCC members.
11. Christingle will be around Candlemas 2026
12. No AOB.
